Who here has wanted to clean lately? I know that I have not. Because of that, my house is a mess. I spent all of this weekend cleaning it. I think I will be doing a room a day this week just to get rid of somethings that have been piling up. I believe that I will be having a yard sale this upcoming weekend to get rid of all of the junk that I do not need. I have come to the conclusion that unless it has been used in the last few months, I probably do not need it. How do you clean house?
I hope that you had a great time this weekend. I know that I did. I got to go with my nephew to a boy-scout camp out. We had a great time and he was able to do a lot of things that he can not do day to day. HE shot the BB gun, slingshot and played other games he could not have done at home. I was happy that he was having fun outside. SO many kiddos today think that they need technology to have fun.
That night we grilled out hot dogs and made s'mores. He was so happy to go and he is now wanting to do the summer camp out. I am not sure about that one. A week in a tent may be too much for me. Not really but I will ask him closer to time what he wants to do.
I hope that your weekend was a great one. Today I wanted to take a moment and talk about shoe boxes. I know that this topic can be confusing but bear with me. How many shoe boxes do you have around your house? I have quite a few. Well during this time of year Samaritan's Purse organizes Christmas Child. This mission activity means that you go to the store ( I usually go to the $1 store) and get little gifts to fill the boxes with. Then you send them off to go in various parts of the world. This gives missionaries an opening to some places that they could not get to otherwise. I am amazed that the Lord gives us so many opportunities to help others around the world.
I went to the farmers market today and spent quite a bit. But I think that I get more value for my money there then I do at the grocery store. Not to say that I would completely stop going to the grocery store but I am lowering my dependence on it. I like seeing local farmers and helping them keep their businesses open. I like to know where my food comes from. It makes me feel happy that I can help put a smile on their face.
have a lot of sinus infections due to mold this year. I am trying to work with those that are in my school building to assist in the removal. But it can be hard when they seem to not care. There needs to be air circulating all the time. Temperature should be consistent in schools and attack mold with bleach. Leaks should be fixed immediately. I am at a loss to know what to do with this issue. How do you deal with mold?
My week was crazy last week. I had kiddos here, there and everywhere. It would not be as bad but one of my kiddos who does mostly inclusion had her teacher quit. Like literally, she just came in and told the principal here is my three day notice and then left 3 days later. So, she has been with me more trying to get help. Then I just finished 2 re-evaluations and will be starting another one tomorrow. I had to get all that paperwork ready last week. It has been crazy but I have found a new hobby that I enjoy. I was in Walmart the other day and I found a coloring book that had bible verses. I have found that it is a great stress reliever. I focus on the verse as I am coloring it and itv calms me down. I am praying that this is a great start to a new way of relaxing. What is a hobby that you do to relax?
John 14:27 NIV27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I hope that you are having a good week. I have started raking around my house and let me tell you wheew! The old tree that I am slowly getting rid of has a few limbs falling and then the other trees are starting to shed their leaves. I can not wait for the first few frosts to totally get rid of most of the leaves. I do not mind a few leaves but the majority will end up in my compost pile. What work do you do outside in the fall?
1. Go for a walk and take in the autumn air. Enjoy the sound of leaves underneath your shoes.
2. Have a photo-shoot among the falling leaves.
3. Collect golden autumn leaves and use them to decorate your dinner table, windowsills, or any other surface you choose.
4. Rake a giant pile of leaves, take a few steps back, run, and jump in! End up lying on the ground, face up, watching the leaves fall from the trees, and the clear blue sky beyond.
5. Spend a Sunday afternoon doing nothing but watching football and eating chili.
6. Go on a hayride. Choose between horse and buggy or a truck-driven hayride.
7. Bake cookies shaped like autumn leaves.
8. Attend a Fall Festival.
9. Visit a pumpkin patch and choose several pumpkins to take home.
10. Bake an apple pie–with a flaky, light, delicious crust–from scratch.
11. Enjoy some apple cider. Get yourself a warm mug of cider and sit out on the porch or balcony when it’s cool out.
What’s on your to do list?
I had to tell my mom no yesterday. I felt bad about it but I was tired and did not want to drive 3 hours for one night. Money is tight this month and I want to see her later in the month for 2 days. I feel bad but I know that I made the right choice. I am getting over being sick and I do not want her or my dad to get what I have.
I have learned that saying no is not always a bad thing. By accepting that you have limits it can cause you to have freedom that you would not have otherwise. I am excited to see what God wants me to learn in the next few weeks.
Matthew 5:37 New King James Version (NKJV)37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
